Extinction Point: KINGS release

Greetings, Earthlings,

I’ve got some good news and I’ve got some bad news (but mostly good news).

Let’s get the bad news out of the way first, shall we?

Due to a bunch of problems outside of my control (well, mostly outside of my control) the paperback and audiobook versions of Extinction Point: Kings have both been delayed. The paperback version for a week or so, the audiobook for as long as it takes me to find a performer suitable for the job. I apologize unreservedly to those of you who had hoped to have either of these in your hands on release day. Just stay tuned to this channel and I’ll keep you updated on when to expect them.

Now for the good news.

Rather than delay the Kindle version of EXTINCTION POINT: KINGS until the other formats are ready to publish, I’m going to release it into the wild later today; which means that it should be available for purchase tomorrow (maybe even tonight). Yay!

I know I had said that I was going to have a pre-order up but again, those pesky ‘unforeseen circumstances’ apparently did not want that to happen, so I’ve decided to just get the book to you as fast as I possibly can. As soon as I hit the publish button I’ll let you know, and as soon as the purchase links are a I’ll post them here. I’ll also be sending out an email to everyone on the mailing list, too. And, of course, as soon as I have paperback copies available, I’ll be running a few competitions for signed copies.

I just wanted to take this moment to say a very big ‘thank you’ to all of you for being so patient with me while I worked on Emily’s final book; I wanted it to be perfect. I think you’ll really enjoy this last foray into the red world.

I’m not really sure how I feel right now, saying goodbye to a character and a supporting cast who have played such a huge roll in my life over the past four years. Its going to be odd saying goodbye to them. These characters have literally been on my mind every single day since I released the first Extinction Point novel back in 2012. It’s been a strange and interesting and, on times, terrifying ride since then. The series has sold over 360,000 English language copies worldwide and has also been translated into Russian, which is just amazing to a guy who sat down to write a book that he thought might sell a couple of hundred copies, maybe.

It turned out quite a bit better than I imagined, thanks to you guys. And for that, I will be forever indebted to you.

Seeing as how I have your undivided attention, I thought this might also be a good time to let you know what my plans are now that Emily’s story is over (well, kind of – see the next paragraph for a hint on that). My next project is to finish up a book I started writing several years ago but which was put on a back-burner until the story was a little clearer in my head. Now feels like the perfect time to dust of that particular project, give it some mouth-to-mouth and bring it back to life. I’ll fill you in on the details when I have more interesting information for you.

I’ve also been hard at work plotting and outlining my new series which I am really, really excited to start. Otherworld Chronicles is going to take you on a wild and crazy adventure, the likes of which I certainly haven’t ever read before. I’m shooting for it to be a trilogy, but it may be longer if the story unfolds the way I hope it will. You’ll meet a bunch of interesting (and terrifying) new characters, along with a couple that you might recognize from some of my previous work (there’s the hint, I mentioned). You can expect an announcement about the release some time later this year. I will, of course, keep you all updated here and on my FACEBOOK page.

I hope you’ll all stick around for these new books because I’m writing them with your taste for adventure and drama firmly in mind.

So, there you have it. Expect another post later today announcing said button pushing, and another as soon as I see Amazon links to the books which I will publish here.

And thank you all again for being so wonderful.

PAUL

P.S. Oh yes, my horror novel THE DARKENING is on special for the next week in the US and the UK. Right now, you can pick it up for 99 cents, but the price is going to increase back up to its regular price over the next 7 days. Just head on over to Amazon if you’re interested.

  1. I read ‘extinction point’ about 3 years ago then lost my kindle in a house remodel… I found it 2 weeks ago, just in time to download the rest of the series before going on holiday, and I can tell you I read the rest of the series last week while on holiday…4 books in a week!!! never done that before… I actually finished Kings last night at 1am! Jeez… what am I going to do without Emily and Mac now?
total page turners (or rather screen tappers – for you kindle folk)
Brilliant mate, and can’t wait for the new series!

    1. Paul, I gotta tell you. Reading the whole series back to back had a profound effect on me. Has really made me think about things this weekend and today. I have always been a bit of a seeker of knowledge and have a pretty good understanding of my place in the universe etc… but I LOVED the idea of everything being potential… i think Adam refers to his siblings as probable outcomes? depending on Emily’s actions or something… made me think about how many possibilities there are, and how right now is a good time for that kind of thinking… Let me know if you need any music for your audiobooks! I have written a few tunes in my time!

Well, Eliot, if you enjoyed the “potentiality” aspect of Extinction Point you’re going to freaking love the new series 🙂
