Thor’s Tale

07/30/2014

Ever wondered what happened to Thor before he met Emily? Well today is your lucky day: Thor’s Tale is a short story (about 10,000 words) that fills in the events to your favorite Malamute’s appearance in Extinction Point.

As the story is free I’ve hosted it myself, so getting your hands on it is a little bit more involved than when you buy a book from Amazon. Don’t panic, though. It’s actually pretty simple.

Here’s what you will need to do to read Thor’s Tale on your Kindle:

1) First download the .mobi file of Thor’s Tale by clicking the download link below (make sure you make a note of where you downloaded the file):

DOWNLOAD THOR’S TALE

2) Check to make sure the email you will be using to send the book is on your approved list

a) click the following link to be taken to your Amazon account https://www.amazon.com/manageyourkindle

(If you don’t trust my link, just go to Amazon, mouse over Your Account at the top of the screen, and click on Manage Your Account and Devices. )

b) Select the SETTINGS tab on the right, and then scroll down to PERSONAL DOCUMENT SETTINGS

c)Under the APPROVED PERSONAL DOCUMENT LIST, make sure your email address is listed (make sure it’s the same as the email you will be sending Thor’s Tale from). If it’s not listed, then select ADD A NEW APPROVED EMAIL ADDRESS

d) Enter the email address you’d like to add and click ADD ADDRESS

3) Now simply email Thor’s Tale to your email address. There’s no need to put anything in the body of the email, just make sure that the Thor’s Tale file is attached. Once the email is gone, refresh your Kindle and you should see Thor’s Tale in your list of books

4) Enjoy

ALTERNATIVE METHOD FOR THOSE HAVING PROBLEMS EMAILING IT TO THEMSELVES

Extinction Point: Revelations available tomorrow (4/8/14)

07 Apr
04/07/2014

It’s finally here (well, almost). Extinction Point: Revelations, the third installment of Emily and Thor’s adventure, will be released tomorrow (4/8/14) for the Kindle, in paperback, and audio-book format. Back in 2011, when I first started writing the series, I knew exactly how I wanted Emily’s story to end, but now that I find myself at that destination, it turns out there is still more story to tell. So, I’m officially announcing there will be at least one more book in the EP series, tentatively titled Extinction Point: Genesis. I’m currently working on finishing up my current novel (The Ghosts of Other Worlds), but as soon as that’s in the bag, I’ll begin working on Emily and Thor’s next big adventure. Make sure you stay tuned for more updates.

I want to say a huge thank you to every one of you for your feedback, emails, and comments on Emily’s journey. You guys truly overwhelm me with your enthusiasm and love for Emily and company. I’d love to hear what you think of this latest book, so make sure you drop me an email or leave a comment here (and if you have a chance, a review on Amazon would be greatly appreciated).

Enjoy!

Extinction Point: Revelations is complete

EP -- Revelations2

Yay! It’s done.

Nine months and approximately ninety-three-thousand words later (and many, many sleepless nights), and the third book in the Extinction Point series, Revelations, is now complete.

Right now, it’s sitting in my editor’s email Inbox waiting for him to work his magic on it. I have to admit, I am very excited (and also incredibly nervous) about this book.

Estimated publication date is early January.

Extinction Point: Exodus

16 Jun
06/16/2013

So, here we are, five days after the release of book-two of Extinction Point ( better late than never, right? for those of you who have been with me since I first self-published this story), and what a phenomenal five days it has been. Exodus has been in the UK Top 100 from day two, and in the top 200 here in the US almost from release. I wanted to thank you all so very much for your support. I am quite honestly speechless at the amount of emails, blog posts, and tweets I have received from you, and I’ve spent the past few days trying to answer everybody who has contacted me directly. I think I’ve caught up, but if I’ve missed you, you have my apologies.

I wanted to highlight a few of the major questions that you asked, right here, but if I miss anything, please feel free to let me know and I will address it as best I can. So, without further ado, here we go:

1) Are there going to be any more books in the Extinction Point series?

Absolutely. I am currently finishing up the third book in the EP series. I had always planned on Extinction Point being a minimum of three books, and that has panned out pretty well. This third book will answer all of the questions posed in the previous two books and will, more importantly, answer a lot, if not all of your questions. I had always planned on the series being a trilogy, but as I near the end of this third book, I find myself thinking about a potential fourth book. Book three WILL conclude Emily’s story, but this newly created, alien-possessed Earth may well open up a whole new story line. I’ll let you know.

2) So, what’s this new book called?

In keeping with the biblical references started with Exodus, book-three is tentatively titled Extinction Point: Revelations, for pretty obvious reasons (see question 1)

3) When will the third book be released?

My publisher, 47North (who incidentally publish many fine books from former self-published and conventionally published authors. Here’s a link ), have a planned release date of January 2014. That is currently up in the air as I have to finish writing the book, but as soon as I know the date-certain for release, I will post it here, on Facebook, and email all of my subscribers.

4)  What can I read by you in the meantime?

For some reason, my self-published novels  don’t seem to be showing up under the name of Paul Antony Jones on Amazon. But you can find my first book Toward Yesterday right HERE if you’re in the US, and HERE for the UK.  Dangerous Places, a collection of three short stories and extended samples of Extinction Point and Toward yesterday, can be found  HERE for the US and HERE for the UK.

Did I miss anything? Feel free to post here and I will answer any questions you have.

Once again, thank you all so much for your support.

PAUL

Extinction Point: Exodus released tomorrow (6/11/13)

10 Jun
06/10/2013

It has been a long time coming, but tomorrow sees the release of the second book in the Extinction Point trilogy. Extinction Point: Exodus picks up right where we left Emily and Thor in the first book. It’s available from Amazon and all good bookstores (always wanted to say that :) )

How on earth did I miss this…?

07 Mar
03/07/2013

Okay, this has absolutely nothing to do with any of my books but I’ve watched it about twenty times today and laughed my socks off every time. I have no idea how I missed it for the past year. Warning: Contains some NSFW words but it is funny as all get go.

Extinction Point: Exodus officially available for pre-order

23 Feb
02/23/2013

You heard me right. The sequel to Extinction Point will be officially released on June 11th, but you can pre-order it from Amazon right now.

Ep--EXODUS Cover (325x471)

“Reporter Emily Baxter survived the alien red rain that blanketed and annihilated the human race. But after the downpour, and the lethal contagion it spread, came an even greater horror: the rampant transformation of the dead into something utterly unearthly.

With a terrifying new form of life emerging from the mutated landscape, Emily’s only hope is to flee toward distant Alaska where she can unite with the survivors who have reached out to her from a remote science facility. The journey from New York will be long and painstaking, and Emily has only her faithful dog and whatever she can carry. But, after discovering a small family of refugees along the way, Emily’s determination to escape the unfolding catastrophe and carve out a new future is renewed. Standing in their way are Earth’s new masters, equally determined to survive and thrive, and possessed of monstrous capabilities Emily and her allies can’t begin to imagine…until they’re face to face with the hideous reality.

In the battle about to begin, there will be no room for mistakes or mercy—only the most ruthless instincts to survive.”

So tomorrow is the big day! The fine folks over at 47North will release the new edition of the original version of Extinction Point as an e-book, paperback, and audio version (available here).. I have to say they have done a bang-up job and been a real pleasure to work with.

Now, if you’ve already read EP then you’ve read this version. This is NOT the sequel :) It’s an edited version of my original self-published novel. You CAN preorder the sequel Extinction Point: Exodus by clicking here, though. It’s due for release on June 11th.

Thanks to all my readers for their unending support. You have no idea how cool you guys are.

It’s that most wonderful time of the year again (how did that happen so fast?) and, to celebrate, ALL of my books will be available for free this Friday (21st) through Sunday (23rd). However you celebrate this time of year, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support, and to wish you all a very happy and prosperous New Year.

Cheers everyone!
